2010 Arrives ... Warm New Year Wishes to Each of You.

It’s the beginning of a new decade and here’s s big welcome to the exciting days ahead. Doors are opening to new opportunities, new possibilities and new creations … it is all challenging and promising. I never listen to soothsayers or fortunetellers. Who would want to know what lies ahead … and spoil all the great surprises ? Not me !

I have been spending the holidays with friends and family … but quietly … thoroughly enjoying each visitor and each visit. Between the social encounters … I have been getting my winter garden established and spending as much time as possible in the studio. What joy to just let loose and try things … experiments with pencils … paints … and brushes. I recently read this quote by Robert Genn … that says it so well: “All art is a gift. It is first of all a gift that the maker can do it. It is then a gift to someone else … whether they pay for it or not. The wonder of it is that we cannot get the production of these gifts stopped. Art is life seeking itself. It is our intractable expressions of love for the beauties … ideas … and epiphanies we regularly find.”

Here are a few photos of the results from my recent activities. Jars of sprouts which help supply my vitamins and minerals.

Trays of pure … fresh goodness … all winter long.

Today’s result from my brushes … partly done …

I have been designing areas of pristine white paper as integral parts of the composition … really enjoying the challenge. This is my latest attempt … a vignette. Is it complete ? I’m not sure. You tell me.

May 2010 be the most creative and happiest year ever ! Happy New Year to all.
